ShareThisReport: NSA officials may consider amnesty for Snowden if leaks stop 13 Dec 2013 Some National Security Agency officials would consider giving whistle-blower Edward Snowden amnesty if he agrees to stop leaking classified documents, CBS news reported, citing an NSA official. Snowden has so far only revealed a fraction of what he has, Rick Ledgett, the official put in charge of stopping the leaks by the head of the NSA, said Thursday in the report. Snowden, a U.S. citizen and former NSA contractor who fled the United States and has been granted temporary asylum in Moscow, is believed to have access to 1.5 million secret documents. He has previously indicated he would return to the U.S. if he was granted amnesty.
